What are ‘cookies’ and do we use them?

Yes, we do use cookies. Cookies are small files that are stored on your hard drive in a browser-related file when you use certain websites. Cookies are widely used on most major websites. The cookies we use may last for a single visit to our site (they are deleted from your computer when you close your browser), or may remain on your computer until you delete them or until a defined period of time has passed. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any personal information about you.
Why do we use ‘cookies’?

Plain and simply put, we use cookies to improve the experience we can offer our customers. We specifically use cookies for three main reasons. Firstly, some of the cookies we use are essential for the running of our website, and if they weren’t present then the website wouldn’t function correctly. We also have cookies that track how people use our website (e.g. what they click on, how long they are here for, where they came from). These cookies are from Google Analytics, and more information about our use of Google Analytics can be found under the ‘Privacy Policy’ tab, in the ‘What personal information do we collect from you’ section.
Lastly, we use cookies for security reasons (e.g. to ensure it is a human accessing our website, not a bot).
Do you have to accept ‘cookies’?

How you receive cookies is up to you. Most browsers automatically accept cookies but you can usually adjust settings so that your computer either warns you each time a cookie is being sent, or declines cookies. Information on how to do this varies between browsers.
What ‘cookies’ do Tummah Ethical Trade use for their website?
